Oh my goodness! I’m absolutely thrilled to finish this quilt! In March 2022 when my FIL passed away, my husband offered/suggested that I could make T-shirt quilts for everyone from his dad’s major T-shirt collection. We went out in June to visit and collected shirts and shipped 2 large boxes home packed full. I got started right away on my step-MIL’s quilt and eventually it just sat because I was unsure of my next step. Over the last few years I slowly worked toward getting the top done and as I got close I ordered a wide back because I knew I didn’t want to piece one and have more seams.
A few weeks ago I finally got it quilted – including making the family come down and do a little quilting too. Last week it finally got shipped and she received it on Monday. She sent an awesome message and some pictures her sister took of her with the quilt.
There’s now 8 more quilts to make, but they won’t be as large since she hand picked the ones that she wanted in her quilt. It was my honor to make this quilt in honor of Da Chuck – my wonderful FIL.
