I know, I needed a new project like I need a smack in the head right? I couldn’t help myself! I don’t even remember how I found this blog, but I’m glad I did! Kelli at Seriously I think it needs stitches is doing a Pokemon quilt along and I just had to join in! The kids LOVE Pokemon, in fact Alex’s birthday theme this year (just 2 weeks ago!) was Pokemon. I have block 1 completed after I bought the bundle Fat Quarter Shop has put together, and I almost have all of block 2 put together, I just need to order some more fabric! A few of the colors need more than a fat quarter, and I can’t finish block 2 until I get it. I’m planning on seeing what I can cut out and put together of block 3 until I get the fabric order.
While I was working on the 2 blocks, I got a few more bow tie blocks completed as leader/enders. I’ve now used up all the ones I had prepped, so I need to get some more ready. I have some other blocks I can use as leader/enders though, I need to get the borders on 3 hexie temp blocks and that will be first. I also have an idea for something I can easily make and list in the etsy shop, so that might be worked on as a leader/ender too. I will have a finish in the next week, I need to finish the binding and applique on the back and it’s done. Back soon!

I’ve been slowly working on hexies for my Temperature Hexie quilt. It’s a slow process but I’m not really in any hurry to get this done. What’s one more long term project? 🙂 These are the first 3 weeks, the dark greens and dark blues are almost showing as black in the picture.
Yeah I know, I drank the Kool Aid again. I mentioned last post that I joined #EPPParty, block 2 is finished and I just got all of block 1 hexies basted so I can figure out layout for those. The next block is released when we are on vacation, so I’ll have to try and catch up when we get back.
I know I mentioned in the last post that I didn’t have time for another hexie project. Yet I caved and started the temperature hexie quilt! I have week 1’s rosette ready to applique down and I’m working on finishing up week 2’s rosette. As I have time I’ll pull the fabrics and work on these, maybe with summer break starting on Friday (!) I’ll have a little more time for sewing, Alex and Cassie can play together and won’t need me (yeah right!). I will be ONLY pulling from the 2.5″ scrap bin for these rosettes, so the colors might change from block to block. I’m using a little bit of a different color scheme from
In other news, we now have a Kindergarten graduate! His official last day of school is tomorrow, but there was a little ceremony at school Monday and we are just SO proud of him and all he has accomplished in the last year! Cassie wouldn’t stay out of the picture, I actually wanted one with just Alex and I, but that’s the life of a mom! 🙂
